There is a big line-up of stars soon to grace the sets of Play School as the favoured children’s show celebrates 50 years with a month of special episodes. Just think of Dan Sultan, You Am I and Bernard Fanning in a jam session with Jemima – it’s that good.

Yes, Play School turns 50 this July and they have created a star-studded line up of episodes to celebrate. While Play School has kept the details under wraps, many of the celebrities involved were too jubilant not to share.

Dan Sultan on Play School

Australian rock icon and ARIA winner, Dan Sultan was the first to spill the beans when he posted a picture of his green room door on his Facebook page. This was soon followed by a collage of pictures from behind the scenes and some happy reveals as he name dropped who else was on set that day.

Best day ever. Happy bday Play School. I was star struck. Not because my mates You Am I or Bernard Fanning but because of big Ted and little Ted. Yes!!! Just yes!!! Dx

“Best day ever,” Sultan wrote on his official Facebook page, “Happy bday Play School. I was star struck. Not because my mates You Am I or Bernard Fanning but because of Big Ted and Little Ted. Yes!!! Just yes!!!”

You gotta love when our greatest talents are starstruck by the beloved soft toys that generations of Aussie kids have grown up with. Just goes to show what an impact this charming children’s program has had over the years.

You Am I on Play School

It’s not only rock stars that will be making Play School’s 50th birthday celebrations epic. Comedians Hamish and Andy (who have previously had us in fits of giggles with their Parents Fantasy Hotline video) also released a little snippet from behind the scenes on Play School.

Rumour has it that the first of these birthday episodes will be aired 18 July 2016. Rocking music and good belly laughs – July is going to be a great month of Play School viewing for both kids and parents alike.
